If you are anything like me, you like easy and effective, and you like easy and effective when it comes to pretty much anything and everything. This is especially true when it comes to health and beauty.
Because between getting our nails done, scheduling a hair appointment (with my hair, we’d be there all day), hitting the gym, going to work, swerving fuckboys, and walking the dogs, we don’t have time to spend on a thirty-minute skin care routine.
Some us need to sleep.
Why am I writing about skincare?
If I am being honest, my job has made me very self-conscious about my skin.
I sometimes wonder when I will get my first wrinkle and how much I am going to have to spend on Botox when I’m old and pruney. This, of course, is ridiculous since I am only twenty-three and have been blessed with great skin (thanks, mom and dad!). But I would like to preserve my skin’s youthful look to the best of my ability, so here is my lazy girl’s skincare routine.
I wake up and wash my face with Alba Botanica’s Acnedote face wash. This is amazing if you have acne prone skin. Fortunately, I don’t really get acne, but the little acne I ever get has been reduced after starting to use this face wash. It does dry out your skin a bit but I take care of that with a moisturizer.
As usual, I don’t apply makeup. I am not the biggest fan of wearing makeup every day. I see it as pointless for sitting at my desk typing away at two computer screens, but if makeup makes you happy, make sure to remove it before bed.
I have woken up too many times after a night of drinks with mascara on my pillow and large raccoon eyes….followed by acne. No bueno.
I follow up washing my face with Neutrogena’s Oil-Free Moisturizer with SPF 15. It keeps my skin really soft throughout the day and it makes me feel slightly better if I sit out in the sun during my lunch break.
Post Gym/Before Bed
I rewash my face with the Alba Botanica’s Acnedote face wash. I then apply either one of two products:
1. LXMI 100% Nilotica Melt: THIS STUFF IS AMAZING. This is a face mask that you wear throughout the night and it’s 100% Nilotica Shea Butter. I have never been obsessed with a skincare product, but this has made my skin glow. It’s really hydrating (which I really need), so it’s perfect if your skin is thirstier than a cactus.
It’s been a game changer.
You can use my link and get 20% off your first purchase (I can almost promise you, you’ll buy it over and over and over again).
2. If I am out of LXMI, I go for Shea Moisture’s Daily Hydration Overnight Face Oil. I always wake up with silky, hydrated skin in the morning with this stuff. It is kind of annoying how it feels on your skin a few hours after you apply it since it is oil, but if you are okay with that, I highly recommend it. Plus, you’ll be asleep anyway. It also comes with a cool dropper which is fun for the easily entertained.
…….And that’s it. Pretty easy, right? Like I mentioned, I am lazy. I will use exfoliators throughout the week but never daily, because, I am a busy bee and don’t want to dry out my skin.
The only product I splurge on is the LXMI Melt. Everything else comes in under ten dollars and really delivers.
So if you’re lazy like me but want nice skin, maybe give this a try.
